Overview
Hyourinmaru is the name of Tōshirō Hitsugaya’s Zanpakutō spirit and sword in Bleach. He is portrayed as a powerful, ice-based entity associated with snow, cold, and control over freezing techniques. As a spirit, Hyourinmaru serves as Hitsugaya’s partner and source of his abilities, especially his Bankai, Daiguren Hyorinmaru. He plays an important role in showing Hitsugaya’s growth as a Soul Reaper and in highlighting the bond between a Shinigami and their Zanpakutō.
