Overview
Shamshel is one of the Angels in Shin Seiki Evangelion, a powerful non-human adversary encountered by NERV and the Eva pilots. It appears as a fast, segmented, insect-like being with a distinctive energy whip-like attack. Rather than being a human character, Shamshel serves as an early major threat that tests Shinji Ikari and the Evangelion Unit-01 in combat. Its role is to escalate the series’ central conflict between humanity and the Angels, while showcasing the danger and mystery surrounding the Angel attacks.
