Shujinkou is the default name used for the protagonist of Metaphor: ReFantazio, representing the player character rather than a fixed canon individual. As the central lead of the story, this character drives the narrative through player choices, exploration, and party interactions. In Japanese, the name literally means "protagonist" or "main character" and is written as 主人公. Because the character is customizable and unnamed in canon, Shujinkou serves as the symbolic hero of the journey.
