Vaan Dalmasca is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy XII, a popular role-playing game by Square Enix. An orphan from the city of Rabanastre, Vaan dreams of becoming a sky pirate and escaping the oppressive rule of the Archadian Empire. Adventurous and optimistic, he gets involved in a larger conflict when he joins Princess Ashe and her allies in their quest to reclaim Dalmasca’s independence. Vaan serves as the player's primary viewpoint and brings youthful energy and perspective to the group.
